New to the Mercantile for S15, Bellerose is a brand that manages to keep a sensible price whilst drawing on great design. These pieces aren't experimental for the sake of it, but refreshingly considered. The collection includes shapes that will form the basis of your summer wardrobe and that you’ll pull out to wear time and again.
Hailing from Belgium, the handwriting of the S15 season maintains that measured element of quirk balanced with the easiness of an all american lifestyle (Bellerose being a neighbourhood on the eastern edge of Queens). The “casual with a touch” effect is created through comfortable, relaxed shapes and functional fabrics.
The balanced styling of 'raw with polished' shows itself in a military-inspired parka worn over a printed cotton sun dress, a pair of army trousers teamed with leather brogues, and a classic, oversized knit, evened out with shorts and beaten up boots.
This seasons nomadic influences are reflected in the Madras check print, drawstring tassels on the cotton kaftan tops, the celulo blouse with embroidered collar and the semi sheer sweatshirt with a fantasy floral print and just the right amount of lux metallic thread woven through.
Selected pieces of Bellarose are now available in-store and online.
