Seemingly far away and worlds apart, the African continent is often closer than one would think. The growing urbanization makes it so that metropole cities like Johannesburg, Nairobi, Mombasa & Dakar are some of the most thriving, eclectic and inspiring cities the world has to offer at this point in time. It’s this fresh, daring and self-assured attitude that Belgium based brand Bellerose tried to capture in their Pre SS20 collection, ‘Urban Tribes’. What immediately jumps out in the Pre collection is the richness of the colour palette. Next to the tones Bellerose are known for, there’s fierce cyclamen pink, deep lazuli blue and strong colours like masai red and baobab green. Pieces in the collection retain the distinct Bellerose DNA of wearable with a twist and fabrics range from light and supple – think viscose, cupro, cotton & linen blends - to solid twill and denim.
