The Mercantile Big Winter Sale is on! Reductions up to 70% off seasonal wares and gift ideas
The origins of Valentines dates back to the 3rd Century and was a Roman festival called Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival celebrated the coming of spring, and included fertility rites. In the 19th century the custom of exchanging symbols of love and handwritten ‘Valentines’ became popular and it came to be known as a day of celebrating love and affection that endures today.
