September 05 2014 – Mercantile London
Here at The Mercantile, we love the month of September with its 'back to school' vibe, as we get the chance to be inspired by all the newness and refresh our Autumn 'uniform' with a few well considered pieces.
With exciting new additions to the Mercantile brand mix this season and fresh collections hitting the shop floor daily, we have had quite a job in selecting the hardest working pieces for the start of the new season, but get these in your life and it will be A* all the way...
Remember the thrill of shiny new school shoes, well here's our grown up equivalent. We are loving the snake print detail, that can be flipped up to tuck your skinny denim inside and the low angular heel provides the point of difference without the pain. Being worn now on the shop floor with our summer dresses whilst we can still get away with bare legs and with the left bank look of jet-black denim and cashmere come fall.
That clean Scandi aesthetic never fails to inspire us and this backpack is on everyone's wishlist. No-one need ever know that all it holds is your bus pass and broken umbrella, as you'll look thoroughly pulled together and on point as you glide pass with this little beauty over your shoulder.
The truly fashion forward amongst us will have already done their winter coat homework, snapped it up in the correct size and squirrelled it away to shoulder robe it at the first signs of cold weather (or LFW, which ever happens first). In the meantime however, you need a bridge piece to see you through.
Remember Kate Moss in that silver slip dress circa 93? well this is it's grown up sensible sister and we love it for it.
