July 23 2017 – Mercantile London
The Mercantile London are particularly proud of the most recent addition to our womenswear brand mix, as this designer is very much part of The Mercantile family, having worked at the Spitalfields store in its early days.
RCA graduate Queenie Chan founded her contemporary womenswear brand Quin in 2016 and the Pre Fall collection which has arrived in-store and on-line is one where attention to detail is key in order to offer the wearer not only beautifully crafted clothes but the approach of being “relaxed in one’s own style”.
The essential components of the brand are simplicity with clean refined silhouettes, whilst mixing contrasting and textured fabrics. Creating feminine yet modern aesthetics and expressing a delicate yet relaxed style, QUIN takes inspiration from contemporary visual arts and everyday life. QUIN stands for "being effortlessly chic and seductive in a subtle way, on an accessible daily basis".
Our palette choice is one of classic black, off-white and grey blue in an edit of six wearable, interchangeable options. Stand out pieces for the Pre Fall season include the Kimmy velvet kimono which works as the perfect cover up for a summer slip dress when the weather is unpredictable and with the addition of denim and a fine knit underneath, continues to earn its place as an everyday wearable jacket long into the Autumn and the Emily dress in black which works hard to keep you cool with its cotton/linen composition and nods to the current Summer Gothic theme with its touches of broderie anglaise and delicate lace insets.
