The key to successful sale shopping is to avoid the mass produced (and the crowds) and seek out those hardworking pieces that will form the foundation of your wardrobe. Think on these pieces as the 'building blocks' - the perfect jean, ankle boot, cream dress, t-shirt, will work to anchor those desirable hero pieces that you fall in love with throughout the season.

These investment pieces tend (although not always) to be a higher price due to the quality manufacture, fabrication and limited run (i.e you won't see lots of other people in your distinctive print) so if you find these classics at a discounted price it makes sense to buy straight away. You can then stop adding to your wardrobe with sale buys that stay in the back of your wardrobe with the tags on due to the fact they were 75% off but didn't go with anything you have or fall apart after a few months wear. 

Less but better classics in your wardrobe only makes getting ready easier as what you have lasts, (literally and seasonally) and elevates any vintage or trend lead buy you may make from the high street.
